Crazy Dayz came together back in 2009, born out of the band’s guitarist’s long-standing obsession with the raw, gritty music and signature sound of Hurriganes. What started as a personal fascination organically evolved into a full-fledged band. After just five rehearsals, fate brought them together with none other than Remu Aaltonen, the founder of Hurriganes, with whom they shared the stage at Jaak Ahelik’s 50th birthday celebration—an unforgettable moment made possible thanks to Jaak himself.
Crazy Dayz was actively performing from 2009 to 2013, appearing at numerous pubs, as well as at Gunnar Graps tribute concerts, various rock events at Rock Cafe, large-scale summer festivals, and more. One of their most memorable shows took place at Tirmo Blues Festival in Finland, where they headlined the Friday lineup and played to a crowd of nearly 5,000 enthusiastic Finnish fans—many of whom warmly embraced their spirited versions of Hurriganes classics. Over those four years, the band played close to 150–200 shows, primarily in Estonia. And fittingly, their final performance on stage was once again alongside Remu.
After 11 years of silence, the band regrouped at the end of 2024, driven by the irresistible pull of Hurriganes’ music and the desire to finally realize ideas that had been left unfinished. One of those long-awaited plans will come to life in Haapsalu, where Crazy Dayz will perform with a renewed lineup that now includes keyboards.
They will present, in full, the legendary LP “10/80″—perhaps Hurriganes’ most cohesive and convincing studio album, recorded in Sweden in 1980.
