Guitar World Magazine nimetas Eric Gales’i 1991. aastal parimaks uueks talendiks. Gales’i võrreldakse tihti Jimi Hendrixiga – mõlemad on afro-ameerika päritolu vasakukäelised kitarristid. Neid iseloomustab silmapaistev tehnika ja väljendusrikkus vokalistina. Ericule on omaseks saanud eriline hübriid blues/rock kõla.

Eric Gales on teinud koostööd muusikutega nagu Billy Cox, Eric Johnson, Chris Layton, Doyle Bramhall II, Brad Whitford, Mitch Mitchell jpt. 1994. aastal esines Gales legendaarsel Woodstocki festivalil koos Carlos Santanaga. 2015. aastal nimetati ta 4-ndaks parimaks bluusikitarristiks Gibson Guitars’i poolt. Gales’i kontserdil võib publiku hulgas sageli näha legendaarseid muusikuid nagu Carlos Santana, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, B. B. King või Eric Clapton. Gales’i kitarrimäng on inspireeriv ka kõige suuremate meistrite jaoks.

Joe Bonamassa: “One of the best, if not the best guitar player in the world”.
Eric Gales is an American guitar player, a blues phenomenon, who picked up the guitar already at the age of 4. He grew up in a musical family. Even though he is actually right-handed, he learnt to play the left-handed style from his older brothers Eugene and Manuel (Little Jimmy King). Eric started performing and competing at an early age and he was known as a child prodigy. He could play Hendrix like Hendrix and he could play the blues like the masters. He won his first blues contest being only 11 years old.
Gales released his first debut LP under Elektra records at the age of 16. It had an amazing response from the media and music fans around the globe. In 1995 Gales teamed up with both of his brothers to record an album “Left Hand Brand” under the name of the Gales Brothers.
Guitar World Magazine’s Reader’s Poll named Eric as “Best New Talent,” in 1991. People are often comparing Gales with Jimi Hendrix, as they are both African-American left-handed guitar players with extraordinary ability. They both are very expressive vocalists as well. Eric has developed a unique hybrid blues/rock sound.
Gales has worked with musicians such as Billy Cox, Eric Johnson, Chris Layton, Doyle Bramhall II, Brad Whitford, Mitch Mitchell etc. In 1994 Eric performed with Carlos Santana at the Woodstock festival. In 2015 he was named 4th best blues guitarist by Gibson Guitars.
It would not be unusual to see artists like Carlos Santana, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, B. B. King and Eric Clapton in the audience listening Gales with interest. People were admiring his God-given talent as he worked crowd after crowd into a frenzy.
Eric’s music is rooted in the blues, though he plays it with an edge and aggression of a young guitar hero. This makes Gales one of the rare musical talents of his generation.
