Andres Roots Roundabout (EST)

www | youtube

Andres Roots Roundabout on kahel slaidkitarril ja trummidel tantsulist bluusi, svingi ja instrumentaalset juurterocki esitav Tartu trio, mida Briti raadiohääl Rick Stuart on nimetanud kõige ägemaks asjaks, mis Eestist pärast Skype’i leiutamist tulnud on ja ajakiri Blues In Britain kirjeldab kui Tampa Redi, kelle üks jalg on New Orleansis ja teine Waikikis.

Augustibluusi 20. juubel on bändi liidri ja kitarristi Andres Rootsi 12. esinemine sellel festivalil, ja ega esimest korda pole Haapsalus laval ka trummar Raul Terep või kitarrist Martin Eessalu. Roundabouti ülesastumine tänavusel Augustibluusil on ühtlasi ansambli värske albumi „Three!“ esimene esitluskontsert Eestis.

Described as “the funkiest thing to come out of Estonia since the invention of Skype” by British DJ Rick Stuart and as “Tampa Red with one foot in New Orleans and the other in Waikiki” by Blues In Britain magazine,  Andres Roots Roundabout hail from Tartu and play an upbeat blend of blues, swing and instrumental roots rock, combining twin slide guitars with a danceable beat.

For bandleader and guitarist Andres Roots, the 20th anniversary of Augustibluus marks his 12th performance at the festival – neither is it the first Haapsalu trip for drummer Raul Terep or guitarist Martin Eessalu. Roundabout’s set at this year’s Augustibluus is also the official Estonian launch gig for the trio’s new album “Three!”.
