Heidi Leigh Axton (Rhythms Magazine): “Kui meie planeedil esineksid muusikatormid, võiksid need vabalt olla Lachy Doley vokaal ja tema energilised instrumentaalsed esitused, mida kuuleme välgusähvatuste ja kõuemürina vahel pulseerimas.”
Lachy Doley on Austraalia üks hinnatumaid bluusi, souli ja rocki klahvpillimängijaid. Teda peetakse Hammondi Jimi Hendrix’iks.
2013. aastal kutsus Deep Purple’i bassimängija Glenn Hughes Lachy salvestama nende loo “Highway Star”uut versiooni. Tegemist oli tribuudiga Deep Purple’i legendaarse klahvpillimängija John Lordi mälestuseks. Lisaks Doley’le tegid salvestuses kaasa ka Glenn Hughes, Steve Vai ning Red Hot Chilli Peppers’i trummar Chad Smith.
Tema bänd The Lachy Doley Group kõlab sageli liigagi klassikalises ja traditsioonilises bluusimaailmas unikaalselt. Alates oma albumi avaldamisest 2011. aastal on bänd andnud üle 200 kontserdi Austraalias ning mujal maailmas. The Lachy Doley Group on tõeline power-trio, mis koosneb basskitarristist, trummarist ning loomulikult imelisest Doley’st klahvpillidel.
Glenn Hughes Deep Purple’ist on nimetanud Doley’t parimaks elavaks klahvpillimängijaks tänasel päeval.
“If music storms existed on this planet, it might as well be Lachy Doley’s vocals and fiery instrumental performances you hear pulsating from cloud to cloud amidst flashes of lighting and claps of thunder” Heidi Leigh Axton – Rhythms Magazine.
Lachy Doley is Australia’s most celebrated blues, soul and rock organ player. He has been named as the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ. Lachy himself has said: “It’s always going to be the Hammond because there is so much you can do with it, so much expression, it’s so versatile.” Doley is a player who can create the most unbelievable sounds from a keyboard. His sounds are intense, ferocious and sometimes transcendent. His vocal screaming comes from the heart when he plays on the incredibly rare Hohner D6 Whammy Clavinet. Most people doubt when they realise that this sound isn’t an electric guitar, but a 70- stringed keyboard instead.
Doley has recorded and toured with musicians like Powderfinger, Glenn Hughes, Steve Vai, Jimmy Barnes, Joe Bonamassa etc. In 2013 Lachy was invited by Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) to record a new version of their song “Highway Star.” It was a tribute to Deep Purple’s legendary organ player Jon Lord. Alongside Lachy, the recording featured Glenn Hughes, Steve Vai and Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
His band, The Lachy Doley Group, has a unique sound in the classic and sometimes very traditional genre of blues. They have played over 200 shows and festivals around Australia since their first album release in 2011. They are a power trio consisting of bass, drums and the incredible Doley on the Hammond.
Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple has named Lachy Doley the greatest living keyboard player in the world today.
